Jr. NBA
What is Jr. NBA?
The Jr. NBA is an entry-level basketball program which provides a fun, heathly and active learning environment for very young boys and girls. It combines fundamental basketball skills (e.g. dribbling, passing shooting) with movement skills and important life skills, such as teamwork, respect and responsibility.
The Jr. NBA also gives parents the opportunity to enrich their child's experience by volunteering and learn the basics of coaching basketball in a supervised setting.
The curriculum features weekly 60-minute practices for 10 weeks. The program is compliant with Canada's Long Term Athlete Development model and was developped by NBA Basketball Operations and a team of experts in child development and basketball fundamentals.
Included in the cost of the program (and yours to keep) is:
- A size-appropriate Spalding Rookie Gear Basketball
- An NBA team-branded t-shirt
All games and activities will be played on age-appropriate equipment (lowered basketball hoops in a smaller court with age appropriate basketballs) and will be modified to promote fun and learning.
