WILBA Academy

The WILBA Academy provides young players (6 to 9 years old) with fun activities designed to teach fundamental basketball and movement skills that are necessary to develop as basketball players. The focus is on skill development but also includes modified games, such as 1 vs. 1 and 2 vs. 2, to introduce competition. All players will receive a WILBA uniform (sleeveless jersey and shorts), as well as a Lakers-branded basketball.

The Academy is under the direction of WILBA technical director Mike Hickey and practices are developed based on concepts supported by Canada's Long Term Athlete Development model. The staff consists of boys and girls from WILBA's competitive Intercity program, past and present.

All ranges of experience and skill are welcome in the Academy - it is a great place to start to learn and to develop basketball skills. For more specific information, please consult the specific programs below. For any questions, please contact info@wilba.net
